Who was going to tell me, lover of new, modern and revolutionary, who was going to end up thrilling with prints as of the restoration of this French village. A before and after beautiful as long had the opportunity to teach.
Already in the photos of the before is emerging the potential of housing. Large doors, a stately staircase railing, flooring tile, large windows … and beauty that only patina and the passage of time are able to provide. The sensitivity was to transform what was an uninhabitable mansion in a home, without losing its charm in the process.
After passing through the hands of their owners, Russell & Judith Goldsmith, who have left it little by little arranging for four years, colonizing room after room, housing has recovered its splendor. What were once narrow spaces, saturated furniture and with a flowery wallpaper beautiful, is now a place clean, clear, and full of light.
This is especially noticeable in the staircase, once surrounded by junk and very overwhelming, transformed into the protagonist of the receiver, as they mark the canons of French villas, which is not conceived a house without a staircase leading to the entrance.
The light has taken over the House, thanks largely to have been spared the wallpaper that populated most of the walls, now a resplendent white. It also helps that instead of old kitchens and junk everywhere now have plants that add color and mirrors that visually extend the stays.
I really like how it has solved the problem of the transition between the stone of the facade and the interior plastering. Part of the first enters the House, while the white of the plaster is trim following the profile of the limestone.
Also should be noted that throughout the entire House the different mosaic floors have been preserved, recovering its original shine to give personality to every room. Especially beautiful are those of the entrance hall and lounge, although there are others more modest that also have their appeal.
The exterior of this small mansion nor has escaped the good do their owners. Without making disappear fully the effect of the passage of time in its walls, that they have managed to give you a cheerful and summer air Thanks to a new layer of lime and a little paint, and also restoring those windows and the French countryside so typical white shutters.
In the garden There have been some minor changes, such as a gravel road that leads to the entrance of the House, as well as a system of fabric awnings which enhance the summer spirit is breathing in every corner, because who does not want you take a little cheese and a wine in this beautiful wooden table.
With this last picture I should end this inspiring before and after with the restoration of a beautiful French village. I do not know you, but my has left me completely enthralled, so my sincere congratulations to Russell & Judith for the magnificent work done.
