The Creativity of Jaime Hayon, Guest of Honour of the Stockholm Design Week

“Don’t look for the next trend. Find your own. ” This reflection has been shared this morning by artist and Spanish designer Jaime Hayon, in one of the lectures promoted by the furniture fair Stockholm Design Week. Guest of honor of the event, Hayon is considered one of the most important contemporary designers, with a vast production from the art world to the design of various products – the furniture clocks. This year, he presents in the Swedish capital a space that gathers some of his main creations.

Fauna and flora, noble materials and craft: everything is mixed in parts of Hayon, who possess a sculptural character and full of fantasy, often flirting with the circus aesthetic. For him, besides bringing together beauty and functionality, it is critical that the design talk to people.

Commenting on your participation in shows, Hayon highlights the intention of presenting your trajectory. “The idea is to explore the DNA of my work over the past few years and show it in a space that has my personality. Is an experiment with the interaction of parts and architectural references, “says the designer to Stockholm week magazine.

Born in 1974, in Madrid, Spain, plays in Hayon Italy and Japan. No wonder, therefore, that it defends the importance of travel and exploring new worlds, with a look at the traditions of each place. In the designer’s vision, creativity is everywhere and motivates the break the boundaries between art, decoration and design, one of the main features of your production. The installation designed by Hayon is a compliment to the creative freedom and the infinite possibilities of design.
